How to make Apple Cider

Ingredients

  • 2 liter bottle of 100% apple juice from the supermarket (preservative free).
  • Browin nutrient for winemaking yeast
  • Red Star Premier Cuvee Wine Yeast

Process

  • Remove 100ml of juice from the bottle to make room for yeast, nutrient and fermentation.
  • Add 0.4g of Browin nutrient per liter, in this case 0.8g.
  • Aerate the juice by shaking it for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
  • Add the 0.5g Red Star Premier Cuvee yeast to 50ml of 30 degree Celsius water (0.25g per L juice).
  • After 5-10 minutes add it to the juice.
  • Seal the bottle with plastic wrap and a rubber band
  • Leave in a dark place for 3 weeks.
  • Pour cider into a new bottle and wait 2 weeks (preferably in the fridge).

Process / Notes

Attempted to carbonate a bottle with 2g sugar, was flat.

Flavor isn't great.
